There is a Purpose for the recovery and spoil

Praise and thanks be to God for the New Year of 2023 a year of supernatural recovery!

This new year started with answered prayers to our cry. The Lord had revealed 3 days ago the Word Proverbs 6:31. When the thief is caught, he has to return 7 folds of what he had stolen. In line with this, the Word that came for us this year from our pastors was 1 Sam 30, the year of recovery. The Word says that David recovered them ALL: living and non-living things. For every inconvenience caused by the enemy, he even brought forth the spoils from the enemy's camp (double for the trouble). This is the heart of the Lord Who always gives exceedingly, abundantly more than we can ever ask or imagine according to the power that is at work in us. But why? What is the purpose?

Years ago, when my family went through terrible times of destruction, despair and loss, all we could have was the spared lives of mom and myself. We knew it was the enemy but we were so tired fighting that we were happy if God saved our lives and gave us provisions to run a modest life. We forgave others, forgot the past and trusted God Who made all things new. But needs arose in the family which caused a lot of stress. Besides, we want to be generous kingdom financiers. Moreover, we want to be slaves only to God and not lenders. Totally be free from every and any form of debts. You may be someone who are in a similar situation too. Humanly in the natural this is impossible. But with God all things are possible.

This year's word rekindled the fire in me. The devil so easily stole things from us in the past, including my father, friends, health, fortunes, opportunities, fame, God's justice in favour of us, dignity, inheritance, promotions and wealth. But why haven't I taken any action? This is not something that I need to claim for free. The truth is Jesus paid for it. He redeemed everything that belongs to us. He paid every drop of blood in full for the restoration and recovery. Everything that was lost are now rightfully mine now as it was restored by Christ Jesus on the cross 2000 years ago. The provision was made. The battle is already won. This means that we should not be taking a back seat and be passive about recovering the lost. Small or great, sons and daughters, spoils and much more, David recovered them all. ALL means ALL. God says pursue and we will certainly overtake them and recover or rescue them ALL. Is it your dreams, visions or destinies? Recover them all by the power of the Holy Ghost! Most importantly, let's discuss the purpose.

We are not recovering all for just ourselves but for the Kingdom of God. In 1 Samuel 30 from verse 23 onwards we see that David's men, who fought with him in the battle to recover the lost people and goods, did not want to share the spoil with others who were taking care of the provisions and supplies. But David (who was after God's heart, a prophet of God, a generous king and a man of God who understood grace) was determined to share the spoils with others too. He did not stop there. He went on to share the spoils as gifts for others. He sent gifts to the elders and friends who he fellowshiped and had an acquaintance with. That's the purpose! The revelation here is twofold. Firstly, some of us are anointed to fight in the frontline of the battle as David and some of his men did. The others, are anointed to pray, intercede and stand guard vigilantly for the others and their provisions or supplies. For instance, if we looked at the body of Christ as a whole, Jesus belongs to the former category as He went to the cross, fought with the devil and won the victory for us. As it says in Colossians, He made a public spectacle of the enemy and brought every spoils. We are the ones who belong to the latter category who share the spoils as co-heirs of Christ. At a church level, it could be the pastors, evangelists, teachers or ministers of God in the former category. The church flock could be the latter. In a household level, it may be the spiritually mature ones, parents or the bread winners in the household who are of the former category. The children and elderly parents could be of the latter category. But the spoils are to be shared with others with joy. Say you are the one who was in the frontline who recovered it all, joyfully share it with your family members and friends who are with you or within your reach (your "aoin" environment). If you have done for the least, you have done it to Jesus! Secondly, the spoils are gifts to be shared with our brethren, with the elders, the church, family and friends. Be generous! Be a gospel financier! For the increase of His government there shall be no end!

This year 2023, I encourage everyone of you, even if it's not for you, even if you feel weary and tired, even if you lack motivation or even if you have questions on how is this possible? Be encouraged and strengthened in the Lord. It is the Lord who has given the grace to pursue and recover them all supernaturally for the sake of His church. It's not by power, not by might but by My Spirit says the Lord! We have recovered it all in Christ Jesus! Have a blessed New Year 2023!
