Left behind

A few weeks ago, my dear mum and only relative on earth passed on to be with the Lord. She was the only support I had through my life as I lost my dad long ago. Also, when he was alive, he was an angry person who used to hit mum and me. As a result, my bond with my mum was unique and blessed of God.

We were born again together and served the Lord together. She was close to me in every way. She was my best friend, carrying mum and a providing father. She demonstrated the love of Christ through all her sacrifices. I was not the daughter she deserved but she was more than a mother I deserved. Grace of God demonstrated in my life. The heart of God, which is showing the love and favour that we don’t deserve. Her life with me was an unwritten poem that demonstrates grace of God.

When she passed on, I can feel the pain of being left behind. God is a Spirit and He is real. My mum’s soul is with Him and she is real. Because the Bible says to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5: 8). I can’t wait to be with the Lord and mum throughout eternity. As 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18 says that at rapture the Lord will raise the dead first and we who are alive will catch up with them and be with the Lord always!! What a beautiful event to look forward to!

But…

The sad part is those who don’t know Christ will be left behind. The world as we know it will change. The world will go through something known as the tribulation and great tribulation period for 7 years. There will be pain, bloodshed and tears. Those who choose to follow Christ may have to endure persecutions including death. Those who do endure will be rewarded with crown of life and will live with Christ and other saints throughout eternity. Those left behind at tribulation will go through things that the world has never seen before. The Bible paints this picture vividly. The current time we are in is the Church age, a dispensation of grace. A simple prayer of inviting Christ Jesus into our heart and requesting Him to be our Lord and Saviour, gives us eternal life. Eternal life starts now because we get to know our Heavenly Father (John 17:3) and begin our relationship that will last for eternity. Moreover, we get to be with our loved ones and enjoy their fellowship worshipping God together throughout eternity. In His love, we will be protected from the evil to come and always reign and rule with Him. Soon the new heaven and new earth will be set up. A perfected world for His perfected Saints!
